Upgrading a business intelligence solution

Challenge

A London based collection of 4 & 5 star hotels had a business intelligence solution based on very expensive infrastructure and outdated technology. They wanted more functionality at a lower cost. They had initially engaged a big 4 consultancy to deliver this but switched to On Data when they struggled to build a proof of concept.

Solution

We maintained the existing solution as best we could whilst developing a new solution based on Microsoft Azure services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Functions, and Logic Apps) and Power BI.

Moving off their old infrastructure to Azure cut their running costs by 85%, using us instead of a Big 4 consultancy cut their development costs by 75%.
